Hi. Welcome to amillioncanaries.com. My name is Lauren, and I’m honored that you have chosen to spend a bit of your day with me.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a wife and mother of three young children. I am a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom), so I spend most of my time supervising tiny artists, refereeing, cleaning up messes, making sure bellies are full, and probably watching too much pbs and nickjr. When I do have a minute to myself, I enjoy shopping, reading, baking, and entertaining. One of my dreams is to be an event planner one day, but for now, I am just a girl who loves every single bit of planning a party.
Most importantly, I love Jesus. I’ve been a Believer most of my life, so I’m astounded by how much of my life I spent not really understanding what it means to love Jesus and let Him love me. Frankly, I’m not sure I really understand it now, but I’m enjoying the learning process. Over the last several years, thanks to an amazing church and many imperfect Godly people, I have learned so much about grace and loving people.
When I began this blog, it was for one purpose. I was 39 weeks pregnant with our second daughter, Layla, and she had just been diagnosed with a heart defect. I started the blog, because it was the easiest way to get information out to our friends and family in a quick and concise way. If you’d like to read about the miracles that the Lord performed during that time of our lives, check out The Beginning. Since then, this blog has become much more. While I do still use it to share the adventures of our family, this is also a place where I write about faith, girlfriends, recipes, baking, and some of the shindigs I organize.
