Stains, Anyone?

As a mother of two little ones, stains are a big part of my life.  Stains on clothes, carpet, furniture, in the car, you get picture.

I don't have a go-to cleaner for all of those areas, but I do have one for stains on clothes.

My product of choice has removed everything from blood to orange juice, which believe it or not, dries as a pretty nasty stain.

My favorite thing about this product is that you don't have to wash it right away after applying.  Let's face it.  Life is busy, especially with small children, and frankly, I rarely have time to put clothes in the washer when I was originally planning to.  I have used certain stain removers that require washing within 10-15 minutes of applying the product or it potentially damages your clothes.

That does not work for me.  I need something that can sit on clothes for days.  Maybe even weeks.

And I found it.  Here's my pick for the best:

Shout Advanced Gel

I'm telling you.  It removes everything.  If a piece of clothing is heavily soiled, I spray this on liberally, scrub it in with my fingernails (a small brush would probably be a better idea, but I don't have one), then soak the clothing in water for as long as I feel like it until I remember to remove it from the water, which may be several days.  On rare occasions, I have done a second treatment.  Spray, scrub, soak, rinse, still see slight stain, spray, scrub, soak, put in washer.  Most of the time, though, a second treatment is not needed.  In fact, most of the time, a soak is not needed.  I simply spray, scrub, and leave in laundry room until such time as I feel like doing a load of laundry.  Wash, and the stain is gone.

If you haven't found a GREAT stain remover, give this one a shot.  I promise you won't be sorry.

Oh, and for those of you who have little babes with oh so sensitive skin, I will say the Dreft stain remover is my second choice overall for stain removers, so take heart.  Your baby won't have to have stains.  Soaking is the key with Dreft.  Maybe even 3 or 4 different rounds of spraying and soaking to get out a really nasty stain.  You know the ones.

Happy stain removing!
