So the Easter Bunny thought it would be a good idea to put kites in the girls' Easter baskets. They took turns flying a friend's kite at the park one day, and they seemed to have a great time, so as smart as the Easter Bunny is, he just knew they would like to have kites. And they were super excited to get their kites.
Now, I don't know about you, but our Easter Bunny is kind of frugal. He saw kites at WalMart for $2, so he bought them. He didn't even think about the fact that the kites seemed a little small. I guess he thought they were just folded up really small in the package and that surely they would unfold into regular-sized kites.
Well, the other day, we had a windy day, so we decided to open the kites and try to fly them in the back yard. Here are a couple of pictures from our adventure.
Did you see the kites in those pictures? Probably not. Because they are the TINIEST kites you have ever seen. Literally. Maybe 3 or 4 inches. The whole kite. Who has ever heard of a mini kite!? That silly Easter Bunny. He should have read the package!
On the bright side, the kites were so tiny that even with Elizabeth running around in circles, she could kind of get the thing "up in the air". She was entertained for a little while. Needless to say, I promised we would try to find some bigger kites to take to the park for the next windy day.
The moral of the story? Beware of the mini kites at WalMart. They are not kidding when they say "mini".
