Numb

Today has been one of those days.

We were supposed to leave to go to my brother's house for New Year's.  I was up late packing and still didn't finish, so I was rushing to finish this morning.

Charlie (our puppy) woke up with no appetite.  He wouldn't eat breakfast this morning.  Sad.  He just wanted to crawl back in his crate and sleep.  All day.

Then some other personal issues came up that aren't appropriate for the blog.  Let's just say it was one of those days where one little decision led to a landslide of consequences, and they all came together in a not-so-great way.

It was a day from hell, to be quite honest.  Certainly not the worst day possible, and I'm very thankful for that, but it was not a fun day.

By the afternoon, I was exhausted.  The dog was still sick.  I took him to the vet.  And they weren't sure what was wrong with him.  The good news is that he didn't show signs of a blockage in the xrays, but the doctor couldn't say exactly what was/is going on.  She put him on anti-nausea medication, an intestinal antibiotic, and an appetite stimulant.  $200 later, he's still puny on the couch.  I'm praying that it's nothing serious.  Please, Lord, let it be a stomach bug.

Who knew I could become so attached to a little furball in a week?

Tonight, I'm going to bed.  Still kind of numb.  Hoping for a good night's rest.  And praying over sweet Charlie that he will feel better in the morning.

Oh, and one other thing.  I'm going to bed very grateful for my husband, my children, our health, our loved ones, and most importantly, our Savior who is on our side.
