how he loves

He is jealous for me.
Loves like a hurricane,
I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.

When all of a sudden, I am unaware,
of these afflictions eclipsed by glory.
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

Oh, how He loves us, oh.
Oh, how He loves us.
How He loves us, oh.

We are His portion, and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes.
If His grace is an ocean, we're all sinking.

Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest.
I don't have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way...

Oh, how He loves us, oh.
Oh, how He loves us.
How He loves us, oh.
Yeah, He loves us.
Oh, how He loves us.
Oh, how He loves us.
Oh, how He loves.

These are the lyrics to The David Crowder Band's song, "How He Loves". If you haven't heard this song, you're missing out. Like, really missing out.

The message is so true and so direct. This song has become so dear to me.

The lyrics are meaningful and comforting, no matter the situation. He is jealous for me. He is jealous for me? Amazing.

As I mentioned, in this post, a band played this song at my friend Dale's funeral a couple of weeks ago, and his windowed wife stood and sang, with her arms lifted high in praise to the Lord. She's an inspiration, but the truth is that this song just makes you want to do that - to stand and praise Him and receive His unfailing, unconditional love.
